Description
We recommend replacing the pilot bearing in a clutch job, many kits do
not include this bearing. Goes in the back of the crankshaft.
Bearing meets or exceeds
OE spec and fits the following:
Make | Model | Year | Group Description |
Toyota | Landcruiser (3.9ltr.) | 1960 – 1974 | Crankshaft Pilot Bearing |
Toyota | Landcruiser (4.2ltr.) | 1975 – 1987 | Crankshaft Pilot Bearing |
Tech Tip: The pilot bearing is often hard to remove. A
simple and easy trick we have used in the shop is toilet paper.
Wet the toilet paper and stuff it in the center hole of the pilot
bearing, then simply take a 3/8″ rachet extension and tap it in.
Keep added toilet paper and eventually it will fill up the space behind
the pilot bearing and begin to force it out. It takes a few
minutes but works and is effective.
